Fighting Fake News Through Quality Information Portal: A Case Of Politico.ph

Politico.ph is a portal developed by PAGEONE for its campaign that aims to mitigate the spread of misleading information online about the Philippine government and its officials . Since its launch in 2019, Politico.ph has successfully reached more than 600,000 social media users while managing to grow its Facebook page with more than 20,000 followers/likers as of 2020.

In addition to the success of Politico.ph’s social media channel, PAGEONE was also successful in building partnerships with key government offices – both local and national – through Politico.ph. These partnerships allowed PAGEONE to ensure the accuracy of the content being placed on Politico.ph as the group’s editorial team regularly receives press invites and exclusive interviews with government officials on pressing matters involving them and their offices as well as projects and developments of the government.

The success of the campaign resulted to two Anvil Awards from the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) – winning at the 55th and 56th Anvil Awards.

Awards Won:

• Silver Anvil Award – 55th Anvil Awards – Public Relations Program – Digital Public Relations Program – Advocacy Campaign
• Silver Anvil Award – 56th Anvil Awards – Public Relations Program – Digital Public Relations Program – Good Governance/Social Responsibility/Responsible Citizenship

Years Won:

2020, 2021
