Coping With Youth Depression Through Digital Avatars

‘Coping With Youth Depression Through Digital Avatars,’ is one of the most successful campaigns of PAGEONE, since its launch in 2015, the campaign has received numerous awards and recognitions from both local and international award-giving bodies.

These awards include The Philippine Quill Awards (4x), Anvil Awards (10x), The Gold Standard (1), and The Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards (3x).

The campaign is developed by PAGEONE in response to the alarming increase of mental health cases – in particular, depression – among Filipino youths. The campaign mainly uses fictional characters known as avatars as the talking heads of the campaign that directly communicate with the campaign’s intended audience.

These avatars are designed and developed to address the issues being raised by their followers in a parental, peer-like and/or familial tone to create a positive environment conducive for bonding and emotional attachment.

As of 2020, the campaign has reached over 23,000,000 social media users while the Facebook pages of the avatars continue to receive high volume of private messages from their followers who are in need of someone to talk to.
