Featuring Levi’s, NU And 2GO, SAFC, PAL, STI And Cebuana Lhuillier

Wear your art

Signature Lines Inc. (SLI), an affiliate of SM Retail and the exclusive franchisee of Levi’s in SM, exclusively offers a special service — hand-painted art on denim — in SM North EDSA and SM Mall of Asia.

This initiative is the first of its kind in the Asia Pacific that bridges an enhanced customer experience of individual representation while empowering the local artist scene.

“We wanted to go beyond the usual tailor services,” said Jeffrey Lo, senior vice president and usiness Unit Head of SLI. “We wish to provide an inclusive space for our customers to express themselves that goes well above the patches and alterations and make it really personalized.”

Lo said inclusion also means reaching out to a new generation, particularly the youth, to experience Levi’s as a brand for themselves.

“Levi’s may have brand recognition from our loyal customers, but we also wish to share this different brand experience with the younger generation,” he said.

NU, 2GO collaborate for ApprenticeSHIP program

2GO recently inked a pact with National University (NU) under its Sea Solutions Business Unit to provide maritime experiential on-the-job training for its tourism and hospitality students.

This strategic alliance aims to equip students with the practical work experience essential for a successful transition into their professional careers upon graduation.

Over the three-year partnership, participating students will be onboard 2GO vessels, gaining exposure to local hospitality and tourism expertise during a 7-day voyage. In addition to assisting with the onboard hotel and food and beverage operations, students will receive standard lectures from training instructors guest relations, housekeeping, and F&B among others.

The onboard learning program will center on harnessing 2GO’s expertise in hospitality services, offering students an immersive 5 to 7-day cruise-like work experiences onboard. Participants will gain firsthand experience in the vessel’s hotel management, particularly valuable for those aspiring to enter the cruise operator field. This initiative serves as a pivotal bridge for National University’s graduating class, seamlessly connecting theoretical knowledge with practical insights into the dynamic service industry.

The internship program will run from January 2024 to 2027, offering participating students’ mentorship, guidance, and industry insights. Both 2GO Group Inc. and National University anticipate a positive impact on students’ lives and future careers through this partnership.

SAFC Heroes kickstarts 2024 CSR program

SAFC recently held a bloodletting activity initiated by its corporate social responsibility arm, SAFC Heroes.

Aligned with its Life Hero thrust, advocating health and wellness through the impactful #BeALifeHero campaign, the event took place last February 2 at the SAFC Head Office in Ortigas Center, Pasig City, in collaboration with the Pasig local government unit and the Philippine Red Cross, with the valued participation of SAFC’s subsidiary company, Wisefund Finance Corporation.

Building upon last year’s breakthrough, where 452 lives were saved through three bloodletting activities in 2023, this year’s initiative kicked off with an impressive 176 lives saved. This accomplishment holds special significance as it honors World Cancer Month this February, showcasing SAFC’s commitment to making a meaningful impact on the community’s well-being.

PAL offers first in-flight halo-halo

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is offering the halo-halo, an iconic and renowned Filipino dessert, to its Business Class passengers flying to the US mainland and Canada.

This makes PAL the first airline to offer halo-halo in-flight.

First offered only on flights from Manila to San Francisco last September 2023, the dessert became a mainstay for PAL passengers flying Business Class to North America starting December 2023, providing a unique and delectable in-flight experience.

With PAL’s halo-halo, certain ingredients are already prepared inside the glass, and the sweet treat is finished off in the skies.

PAL flies nonstop from Manila to Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York in the US mainland, as well as to Toronto and Vancouver in Canada.

Cebuana Lhuillier continues its aggressive push to empower micro, small and medium scale enterprises (MSMEs) as it combines forces with SeaMoney, an affiliate of the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia, Shopee.

The Cebuana Lhuillier-Shopee partnership enables MSMEs to accelerate their businesses further by giving current and potential customers access to the Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) payment option through SPayLater, which is offered on Shopee.
