For the second consecutive year, Dr. Ron F. Jabal, DBA, APR, Executive Chairman and CEO of the multi-awarded PAGEONE Group, has been named a finalist for Best Opinion Column in the 47th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) – this time for his column Reputation, published in The Philippine Star.

Dr. Jabal’s Reputation stands alongside the country’s most respected opinion columns, including Journey Moments by Fr. Jerry Orbos (World Mission), Public Lives by Randy David (Philippine Daily Inquirer), and Tech4Good by Mon Ibrahim (Manila Bulletin).

Now in its 47th year, the Catholic Mass Media Awards continues to honor individuals and organizations who embody truth, integrity, and compassion in communication. It remains one of the most respected and enduring recognitions in Philippine media, celebrating works that inspire faith, reflection, and responsible citizenship.

This CMMA recognition follows his CMMA finalist citation last year for Shared Values, his BusinessWorld column on business ethics, leadership, and moral accountability. The back-to-back recognition underscores Dr. Jabal’s continuing impact as a thought leader whose writing bridges communication, conscience, and civic responsibility in an era of deep polarization and digital disruption.

Through Reputation, Dr. Jabal dissects the intricate relationship between trust, leadership, and communication: examining how individuals, corporations, and governments build, sustain, or squander their reputations in an era defined by speed, skepticism, and social media scrutiny.

“Reputation is not merely about perception or publicity. It is about authenticity, integrity, and moral consistency. True reputation is not built in moments of triumph but tested in times of doubt and difficulty, ” Dr. Jabal stressed

His essays have covered a wide range of subjects, from corporate ethics and governance to sustainability, artificial intelligence, and the moral dimensions of leadership, blending academic insight with real-world application.

The Reputation column continues Dr. Jabal’s longstanding commitment to promoting ethical leadership and responsible communication. His column Shared Values in BusinessWorld tackled the intersection of morality and management, while his Power Play column for Politico.ph offers incisive commentary on power, governance, and political accountability.

“Being recognized again by the Catholic Mass Media Awards is deeply humbling,” Dr. Jabal said. “It reaffirms that thought leadership, when anchored on ethics, empathy, and evidence, still plays a vital role in shaping how societies think and act.”

Educator, Strategist, and Reputation Scholar

Beyond his work as a columnist and communication strategist, Dr. Jabal currently serves as Adjunct Professor of Communication at Taylor’s University in Malaysia, ranked No. 1 among private higher education institutions in Southeast Asia. In this role, he continues to mentor future communication leaders, drawing from his rich experience in both academia and industry.

He is also the Chairman and CEO of PAGEONE Group, the Philippines’ most awarded network of communication agencies, known for its work in sustainability, reputation management, and strategic communication. Under his leadership, PAGEONE has received numerous awards from the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), and the Stevie Awards, among others.
